Best AI Visibility Tools: 9 Compared on Price and Limits

· Managing Director

The best AI visibility tool for you depends on how many prompts you need to track and which assistants matter. Start with what you already pay for: Ahrefs, SE Ranking and SISTRIX include some AI tracking on their paid plans, and Semrush sells it as a toolkit. If you use none of those, Otterly.AI has the lowest published paid plan here, and Peec AI gives more prompts for under €100.

How we chose

A tool made this list if a reader could confirm all of the following on the vendor’s own site:

  1. It reports on your brand’s mentions or citations in AI answers.
  2. It lets you track prompts you choose, on at least one plan.
  3. It covers ChatGPT and at least one Google AI feature.
  4. It publishes a price, a free tier or a self-serve trial.

The order is A to Z, so a position here says nothing about quality. There are no scores, because we have no test data to base one on. Plenty of other tools exist, and leaving one out is not a verdict on it.

Prices are what a UK connection saw on the day. Several vendors show dollars or euros, some change currency by location, and VAT may be extra, so confirm the figure at checkout. SISTRIX is the only one here whose pricing page says “plus taxes” next to the price.

The nine tools compared

AthenaHQ $295/mo, Starter 3,600 credits, 11 models $25 credit (300 credits)
Otterly.AI $29/mo, Lite 15 prompts, 4 engines, 3 more as add-ons Free trial
Peec AI €85/mo, Starter 50 prompts, choose 3 of 6 models Free trial
Profound Not published Custom prompts, up to 9 engines 7-day trial, 50 preset prompts
Scrunch $250/mo, Core 125 prompts, 4 engines 7-day trial
Semrush toolkit £80.22/mo, billed annually 25 prompts, 4 named sources None, per its knowledge base
SE Ranking £95/mo, or £76 billed annually 25 prompts a day, 5 or 4 engines 14-day trial
SISTRIX €119/mo plus taxes, Start 9,300 updates, 4 engines for your prompts 14-day trial

If UK results matter to you, Otterly.AI and Semrush name the UK on the pages we read, and SISTRIX gives it as an example. We did not find it named on the others’ pages, which does not mean it is unavailable, so ask before you buy.

A team working through a plan together

The tools, A to Z

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Brand Radar has two parts: Prompt Tracking for your own questions, and an AI Visibility Index that Ahrefs says covers 525 million prompts. Prompt tracking is included on paid Ahrefs plans from Lite, which shows at £99 a month. Ahrefs says paying annually saves up to 17%.

  • Suits: teams already paying for Ahrefs, or anyone who wants to look up competitors without building a prompt list.
  • Watch for: Lite’s 150 monthly checks equal five prompts on one platform, by Ahrefs’ own example, and Claude uses 8 checks per update. Extra custom prompts start at £40 a month, and the index at £159.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: Brand Radar, pricing.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ prices on credits, where one credit is one AI response. The free Essential plan comes with a $25 credit, listed as 300 credits, across five engines. Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits and lists 11 models, with unlimited topics and prompts.

  • Suits: teams that want to read many models from one plan and are happy to manage a credit budget.
  • Watch for: running one prompt on all 11 models uses 11 credits, so “unlimited prompts” still has a ceiling. The plans page also leaves add-on pricing to a conversation with sales.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: plans.

Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI has the lowest published paid plan on this list: Lite at $29 a month for 15 prompts, then Standard at $189 for 100 and Premium at $489 for 400, with 15% off annual billing. Each plan includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, tracked daily. Its country table marks the UK as supported on all seven engines.

  • Suits: a small business or solo marketer who wants daily tracking of a short list.
  • Watch for: Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons, and their prices rise with the plan. Lite cannot buy extra prompts. Otterly says it uses each assistant’s website, with the API for Claude only. The page does not state the trial’s length.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing, countries, data collection.

Peec AI

Peec AI showed us €85 a month for 50 prompts, €205 for 150 and €425 for 350, with a 15% discount for annual billing. Each of those plans lets you choose three models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Its documentation says it collects answers through the assistants’ web interfaces.

  • Suits: marketing teams who want a larger daily prompt list and can settle on three models.
  • Watch for: Perplexity and Claude sit in the Enterprise column of the pricing table. Starter covers one country and the next two plans cover three. The page offers a free trial without stating its terms.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing, docs.

Profound

Profound lists two plans. The free Trial runs 50 prompts daily for seven days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise has custom pricing and tracks up to nine engines, with exports and API access.

  • Suits: larger companies that expect a sales process and want custom regions, support and security terms.
  • Watch for: no Enterprise price is published. Trial users get a recommended prompt set and cannot change it, so you may not see your real buying questions, and the Trial has no history or exports.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing.

Scrunch

Scrunch showed Core at $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5,000 responses, with a 7-day free trial. Core supports ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot.

  • Suits: brand teams that want to set a baseline and prove the case before buying more.
  • Watch for: Gemini, Claude, Meta AI and Google AI Mode appear under Enterprise, which has custom pricing. Check Core covers the assistants your buyers use.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Semrush showed £80.22 a month per domain, billed annually, for 25 custom prompts tracked daily. The plan lists mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Its knowledge base names the United Kingdom in its location lists for research reports, and says Prompt Tracking covers 220+ countries and territories.

  • Suits: teams already working in Semrush who want AI reports beside their other SEO data.
  • Watch for: the price is per domain. The knowledge base says this toolkit has no free trial, even though Semrush offers a general seven-day trial on the same pricing page, so ask which applies. It lists 50 extra prompts at $60 a month.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing, knowledge base.

SE Ranking

SE Ranking includes AI visibility tracking in its Core plan: £95 a month, or £76 billed annually, with 25 prompts a day. The 14-day trial needs no card and includes 20 AI prompts a day. An AI visibility add-on starts at £54 a month.

  • Suits: smaller teams that want rank tracking, site audits and AI tracking on one bill.
  • Watch for: the pricing page says five AI engines, while the help centre FAQ lists four: AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and ChatGPT. Ask which applies to your plan. Growth at £209 lists the same 25 prompts as Core.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing, tracker, FAQ.

SISTRIX

SISTRIX starts at €119 a month plus taxes, with 9,300 prompt updates a month. Its Q3 2026 changelog says AI Check covers six systems, and its Q1 2026 changelog lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode for your own prompts. The handbook gives English/United Kingdom as a project example.

  • Suits: existing SISTRIX users, and teams that want visibility data for Google and AI answers in one place.
  • Watch for: these AI features are in beta. SISTRIX says they are currently included but it may price them separately. The handbook says one prompt on one model is one update, and prompts pause when the quota runs out.
  • Checked 2 Nov 2026: pricing, handbook.

How to compare the pricing fairly

Headline prices hide different units. Otterly.AI and Peec AI count prompts, AthenaHQ counts responses, Ahrefs and SE Ranking count checks, and SISTRIX counts updates. Before you compare, multiply it out for your own list.

For example, 20 prompts tracked daily on four engines is 80 runs a day, or about 2,400 a month. That is well above the 150 checks on Ahrefs Lite, and roughly two thirds of AthenaHQ’s 3,600 credits. On Otterly.AI’s Standard plan it uses 20 of 100 prompts, if those four are the included engines.

What these tools cannot tell you

Assistants do not return a fixed answer. SE Ranking’s own FAQ says the same prompt on two dates can return different wording and sources, so some movement between checks is normal. One day’s result proves little. Look at the direction across several weeks.

A tracked prompt is also something you wrote, and it may not match how buyers really ask. Mentions do not show sales either. Pair the tool with AI traffic tracking in GA4, and ask new enquiries how they found you.

Before you pay for anything

  1. Confirm AI crawlers can reach your site. Our guide to which AI crawlers to allow shows how to check, including past your CDN.
  2. Write down 20 questions a buyer would ask, and put them to ChatGPT and Gemini by hand. Keep the answers in a spreadsheet.
  3. Fix what that turns up. Our guide to getting recommended by ChatGPT covers the work that tends to matter, and we explain why llms.txt is a low priority.
  4. Buy a tool when the list outgrows the spreadsheet, or when someone needs a monthly trend to report on.

FAQ

Common questions

What is an AI visibility tool?

It is software that sends a set of prompts to assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity on a schedule, then records whether your brand was mentioned, which sites were cited and which competitors appeared.

Do I need one?

Not at first. A small business can run 20 prompts by hand each month and read Search Console and GA4 for free. A tool starts to pay for itself when the prompt list is too long to check by hand, or when someone needs a trend line to report on.

How many prompts should I track?

Fewer than you think. Start with the 15 to 25 questions a buyer would ask before contacting you. Most plans here price on usage, so a long list of vague prompts costs more and tells you less.

Do these tools show what real people are asking?

No. They run prompts themselves and record the answers. Vendors can estimate prompt demand, but no tool on this list sees private conversations, so treat the figures as a sample.

Which tool is cheapest?

Otterly.AI had the lowest published paid plan we found, at $29 a month for 15 prompts. Check the add-ons before comparing it with other plans, because Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude cost extra.
